I'm an orthodontist planning my escape after 10 years of work. My parents also pushed me to do this, they didn't force me but I was persuaded by the income I could make and the relative "freedom" I would have. Moving to the woods and becoming a writer is exactly what I've been doing, fortunately I know my limits and choose to do dentistry only 3 days a week. I still feel like I couldn't do it my entire life though, so I must do something about it. It's nice to see people like you speak about this, it's such a taboo topic for doctors at least!
